Disease models watching the weather

What it is

A nervous system for your vineyard

Three pieces that work together — or stand alone. Sensors watch, irrigation acts, and intelligence ties it to the season.

Eyes in the soil

Wireless sensor nodes report soil moisture, temperature, humidity and leaf wetness from every row — so you stop guessing what the roots are doing.

Hands on the water

Native OpenSprinkler integration puts zones, schedules and moisture-driven watering in one dashboard. Your controller stays local — no cloud, no subscription.

A brain for the season

Disease-risk models for downy mildew, powdery mildew and botrytis run on your own weather data, and an AI copilot answers “should I irrigate today?” — with your numbers, not vibes.

What it does

Everything between the vine and the vintage

One dashboard for the whole operation — from soil readings to spray records to harvest.

Block & vine GIS

Vineyards, blocks, rows and vines with GPS polygons. Know exactly what's planted where.

Sensor ingestion

Soil moisture, temperature, humidity and leaf wetness over HTTP or MQTT. Battery/solar node friendly.

OpenSprinkler native

Talk directly to your local OpenSprinkler controller. Full zone control, no middleman.

Tasks & spray records

Pruning, spraying, scouting and harvest work orders with REI/PHI compliance tracking.

Disease risk models

Downy/powdery mildew and botrytis risk from your own weather data, recomputed daily.

AI copilot

Ask what to do — irrigation, spray timing, frost calls. Every AI decision is logged with its reasoning.

How it helps

Less water. Fewer surprises. Better wine.

Mind the Vine doesn't replace your judgment — it replaces the guessing that used to come before it.

Water only when the soil says so

Replace fixed timers with moisture-driven irrigation. Your vines get water when the root zone actually needs it — not because it's Tuesday.

Catch mildew before you see it

Infection models watch temperature and leaf wetness around the clock, so spray timing is driven by risk — not by the calendar or by panic.

Fewer trips down the row

Check every block from your phone. One glance tells you which rows are dry, which nodes need batteries, and what ran last night.

Every decision logged

Spray records, irrigation runs, sensor history and AI recommendations — all timestamped. Compliance and hindsight, for free.

Hardware

A sensor node that sips power

Our reference node is built around the ESP32-C6: a capacitive soil probe, battery plus solar, Wi-Fi uploads, and deep sleep between readings. Months in the field, not days.

Soil moisture + temp

Capacitive probe in the root zone. No corrosion, no consumables.

Battery + solar

Runs for months. A small panel keeps it topped up through the season.

Phone provisioning

Claim a node over Bluetooth and assign it to a row — no laptop in the field.

Open design

Firmware and hardware notes are published. Build your own or buy nodes from us.

How it works

Up and running in an afternoon

1

Drop nodes in the rows

Push a sensor node into the root zone, claim it with your phone over Bluetooth, assign it to a row. Done in minutes.

2

Connect your irrigation

Point Mind the Vine at your OpenSprinkler controller. Zones, schedules and manual runs appear in the dashboard.

3

Let the data drive

Watch moisture trends, get disease-risk alerts, and ask the copilot what to do next. You still make the calls — now with evidence.

FAQ

Fair questions

Do I need your hardware?

No. Any sensor that can POST readings over HTTP or publish over MQTT works. We also publish an open ESP32 node design and firmware if you want to build your own.

Does it work if my internet goes down?

Your OpenSprinkler controller keeps running locally no matter what — Mind the Vine never sits in the critical path for watering. Sensor data just queues until you're back online.

Who sees my vineyard data?

Only you. Mind the Vine is multi-tenant with strict per-account isolation. Your blocks, readings and records are yours.

What does it cost?

We're in early access while the platform matures on a real working vineyard. Join the list and you'll hear first when pricing lands — early growers get founding terms.

Is this built by actual growers?

Yes — it runs a real Cabernet Franc vineyard in Spokane, Washington. Every feature exists because a vine needed it.
